Venus Williams in the Rearview, Serena Williams Still Ahead—Where Does Iga Swiatek Stand in the All-Time Prize Race?

Oct 14, 2025, 8:04 PM CUT

From Warsaw’s court to the biggest stages in tennis, Iga Swiatek has carved out a meteoric rise in the past nine years. After turning pro in 2016, she quickly made her mark by winning the French Open title in 2020 at just 19 years old. Since then, she has amassed 25 WTA Tour-level singles titles, including six major championships. Her consistent performances and dominance on various surfaces have contributed significantly to her earnings, and guess what? At just 24, Swiatek has now yet again rewritten a piece of tennis history.

In the 2025 season, Swiatek won three titles, and her win-loss record is currently 61-15. Owing to this consistent performance in the past few months, the world number two has now officially surpassed Venus Williams in career prize money. Yet, as her eyes turned to the distant summit, one figure remained towering above all—Serena Williams, whose all-time earnings seem almost untouchable.

With a career prize money total of $42,862,240, Iga Swiatek was tantalizingly close to surpassing Venus Williams’ $42,867,364 with a decent run at the Wuhan Open. She started her campaign here with two straight-set triumphs over Marie Bouzkova and Belinda Bencic, but her journey in Wuhan came to an end at the hands of Jasmine Paolini in the QF (1-6, 2-6). However, despite the loss, the Pole managed to collect $83,250 for reaching the QF at the WTA 1000  tournament. As a result of this, she has now left behind Venus Williams to become the player with the second-most career prize money in WTA history.

Serena Williams$94,816,730
Iga Swiatek$42,945,490
Venus Williams$42,867,364
Aryna Sabalenka$42,480,621
Simona Halep$40,236,618
Victoria Azarenka$38,890,473
Maria Sharapova$38,777,962
Petra Kvitova$37,653,615
Caroline Wozniacki$36,479,231
Angelique Kerber$32,545,460

Although Swiatek has secured the second spot with that QF run in Wuhan, she is still $51,871,240 behind when it comes to matching Serena’s astonishing record. In fact, her margin with Sabalenka isn’t too big either ($464,869). Both these players have a good chance to increase their tallies at next month’s WTA Finals, where there is a prize money commitment of $15,500,000.

How much has Iga Swiatek earned in the 2025 season so far, though, and what is her current net worth? Well, the Pole has earned a total of $9,417,532 in prize money in the 2025 season so far.

As per Celebrity Net Worth, Swiatek has a net worth of around $30 million. But beyond her on-court earnings, Swiatek has secured lucrative endorsement deals with prominent brands such as Porsche, On, Visa, Rolex, Lego, Infosys, and Oshee.

Iga Swiatek has rapidly emerged as a dominant force in women’s tennis, known for her powerful play and strategic prowess. While surpassing Serena Williams’ record seems to be a distant goal, Swiatek’s ascent to second place on that list is a testament to her exceptional talent and work ethic. With her career still in its prime, the tennis world watches eagerly to see how far she can go.

Swiatek will now be keen to end her year on a high note with an impressive performance at the WTA Finals. But there is a big worry for the Pole ahead of this star-studded event…

Iga Swiatek’s concerning record against every WTA Finals player

As the season barrels towards its grand conclusion in Riyadh, Iga Swiatek stands on the brink of reclaiming her world domination. She has been ruthless on grass, efficient on hard courts, and coldly mechanical in her victories this year. Yet, beneath that icy composure lies a surprising crack—one that could haunt her at the WTA Finals.

For all her titles, trophies, and tearless wins, Swiatek will enter the year-end showdown with a peculiar statistic: ‌she holds a negative head-to-head record against every singles opponent in the 2025 WTA Finals field. This is the first time that we’re seeing this in her five appearances!

Swiatek will arrive in Riyadh with a 4-9 season record against the field and having lost her last match against 6/7 players.

Aryna Sabalenka0-1
Coco Gauff0-2
Amanda Anisimova1-1
Jessica Pegula0-1
Mirra Andreeva0-2
Madison Keys1-1
Jasmine Paolini2-1

So, the only player she has a positive H2H record against is Jasmine Paolini. As of now, Paolini and Andreeva’s places for the WTA Finals are yet to be officially confirmed. But they are clearly the frontrunners!

Coming back to Iga Swiatek, it’ll be interesting to see how well she performs against these superstars at the WTA Finals. But amid all these, Swiatek has already confirmed her first tournament for the 2026 season.

She’ll be seen in action at the United Cup next year. While sharing her thoughts on this tournament, she said, “The United Cup is always amazing. It's always an amazing experience and just an honor to represent your country and especially alongside such great players. I love being part of the team and have great memories of playing this event. This tournament is different. It brings more excitement than the normal tournaments we play during the year.”

Do you think Iga Swiatek has a real chance to be the standout player for the next few months and throw a tough challenge to the world number one, Aryna Sabalenka?
